The World Festival of Sacred Music is a celebration of the diverse musical traditions of Los Angeles communities. The documentary follows visiting international performing groups from Indonesia, New Caledonia, and Taiwan – as they arrive, meet, rehearse, and perform with local Los Angeles ensembles. Balinese gamelan orchestra and dance by Cudamani shared the stage at the Malibu Hindu Temple with Indian music and dance by the Shakti Dance Company. Melanesian music and dance by Lifou Island Dance Theatre participated in a program on the Santa Monica Beach with the dance ritual of Swing Brazil. The Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastic Choir of Taiwan shared the huge open courtyard of the Hsi Lai Temple with the Los Angeles based Angel City Chorale. The documentary gives voice to the best intentions of the participants in the festival balanced by an exploration of the human effort and community commitment it actually requires to make it a success.

The website excerpt is an example of the bridging sections between primary stories, in this case commenting on why some groups were not granted visas due to the current state of international relations.
